OVCE Architecture
The OVCE arts campus will strive to be %100 percent sustainable and believes that through its architectural and living systems design we can raise awareness and inspire others to think about how to live more harmoniously with nature.
After working with Miami of Ohio Sustainable Architecture students, led by Professor Scott Johnston, in developing conceptual architectural plans, OVCE chose to work with (fer) studio of Inglewood, CA.
About (fer):
(fer) Studio specializes in green architecture with the intent to develop contemporary environments that provide uplifting experiences, yet are still grounded in the quality of life we desire.
In addition to drawing upon his own ideas, principal architect Doug Pierson wanted his design to complement the vision of OVCE. A strong emphasis was placed upon energy recollection systems from the studios, passive heating and cooling systems, water recollection techniques, and green landscaping.
(fer) has recently completed the construction of The Green Building , the first building to pursue Platinum LEED certification in Louisville, KY.
